The VEWL holds a tournament at the end of each year for our Junior Varsity wrestlers. This years tournament will be , at Northampton High School.
The tournament is really two tournaments in one. For the JV tournament we take our Southeast and Northeast division teams and create a tournament bracket with these 16 teams doing battle for the top 4 places in our East division tournament. We also combine our Southwest and Northwest division teams and create a second 16 team tournament bracket and have these wrestlers do battle for the top 4 places in our West division tournament.
By splitting our JV teams into 2 separate tournaments, we feel we give more wrestlers the opportunity to grab their own glory that they practiced so hard through the season for. More kids with more medals helps to encourage and excite young wrestlers about taking the sport of wrestling seriously and work to achieve more personal goals. The VEWL exists for the kids and we want to make sure we give back to the kids.
